BreakOut: #VPartyseries Review

The #Vpartyseries Midnight Mysteries is a mind-puzzling, thriller experience organized by Breakout Philippines in partnership with FOX and Victoria Court Malate, Manila. The game revolves around the concept of trapping a maximum group of six members at a particular room: Asgard, Marrakesh, Candy land, Bat Cave, and Casino Royale, solving clues and puzzles in order for them to BREAK OUT and SURVIVE.

Last November 7th 2015, mysiblings and I were given the chance to play and experience the thrill of BreakOut. Together with 3 other players, we entered the room of 'Asgard and then the game started.

Forty-five minutes. Forty-five minutes of scare, excitement, and brain-draining experience; stuck in a dark room with only a flashlight; in dire search of clues and the pressure of solving ridiculously-hard riddles.Heck, it was definitely one h*ll of a ride!

Having experienced BreakOut, here are my tips to those want who are going to or those about to play the game!

1. LISTEN

Listening is the key to success. Scare actors aren't there just to SCARE but also to TELL. There are some key points which you might miss if you don’t listen to the actors. Listen well to the story. There may be some decisions and twists in the story that you need to understand in order to beat the game. Haha I know, 'cause room Asgard has a very ironic plot twist!

2. DO IT FAST!

You only have 45 minutes to do everything they tell you. Swallow up your fears and emotions and just do as they say. Every minute and second counts; DO NOT WASTE IT. They can’t hurt you, anyway. Right?

3. TEAMWORK

You guys are stuck in the dark, confused, and pressured. Don’t waste it on pointing fingers on who does what. Do everything you can! It’s more fun if you participate in all the puzzles and scares rather than wait for your teammates to finish it.

4. SNUCK IN A FLASHLIGHT

Kidding! Haha the staff requires you to leave all your belongings at a counter before entering the room. But if you're a sneaky little ***** do it! lol. Kidding aside, the room is literally pitch black and the only source of light in our room was the bulb inside a refrigerator. A little help from the blinding darkness can ease you in a way. You’ll also need this for the puzzles. It was utter misfortune that the floors of the room we went to was also black.

5. ENJOY

You spent good money to be in here, MAKE THE MOST OF IT. Be in the moment; imagine you are in real danger and these people are there to kill you! Yes, the more scared you are, the better the experience. Communicate with the actors as well! You might enjoy how in-character they are!

Overall. my experience during the BreakOut can be ranked 4 out of 5. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy the play! I just wish there was :

1. Free food after the quest (or maybe there was)

2. A little bit of scare inside the room

3. 60 minutes instead of 45 ! :)))

I just wish they would lower the price. It seems too much for just a 45-minute game play. The concept is great, the execution is good, but I know they can do better! haha

BreakOut is a definite recommend! Let's all do it again next year! ♥
